The "Key of Solomon" is a grimoire of ceremonial magic attributed to King Solomon. God, impressed with Solomon's selfless pursuit of wisdom and justice, sent an angel to instruct him on a Sacred Art. Written down for the benefit of his son Rehoboam, the manuscript was later unearthed by Babylonian philosophers. The grimoire describes a series of planetary pentacles and the intentions and functions they serve. This talisman is described as serving "excellently for the operation of invisibility, when correctly made. In the centre is the Mystical letter Yod, in the Celestial Alphabet. The three letters in the 'Passing of the River' writing, in the Angles of the triangle, form the great Name Shaddai. The versicle is from Psalms lxix. 23, and cxxxv. 16:--'Let their eyes be darkened that they see not and make their loins continually to shake. They have eyes and see not.'" Talismans of the Sun are best dedicated to use on Sunday within the first hour after sunrise. Pass the pendant through incense smoke having Solar affinity, such as frankincense.
